Pennsylvania's Environmental Education Grants Program, established by the Environmental Education Act of 1993, allocates five percent of all pollution fines and penalties collected annually toward environmental education initiatives. Over $14 million has been distributed statewide. Eligible applicants include public and charter schools (PreK-12), incorporated private schools, universities and colleges, county conservation districts, incorporated nonprofit organizations, registered businesses operating in Pennsylvania, and conservation and education institutions.
