Privacy Policy
Funding Landscape is operated by Argo Innovation LLC, which is the data controller responsible for the personal data described here. This Privacy Policy explains how Argo Innovation LLC collects, uses, and shares information when you use Funding Landscape. By using our platform, you acknowledge that you have read and understand this policy.
1Information We Collect
We collect the following categories of information:
- •Account & profile data. When you create an account or sign up for saved-search emails, we collect your name, email address, organization details, and preferences. We use third-party sign-in providers so we do not store passwords directly.
- •Usage data. We log searches, saved opportunities, filters, feedback, API calls, IP addresses, browser details, referring URLs, and timestamps to improve rankings and secure the platform.
- •Discovery telemetry. Our automated watchers record target URLs, HTTP response metadata, run status, and extracted funding details to maintain freshness guarantees.
- •Communications. If you contact us or respond to surveys, we retain the correspondence and any attachments.
- •Third-party data sources. We ingest publicly available government and philanthropic datasets (e.g., Grants.gov, SAM.gov) which may include contact information for program staff.
2How We Use Information
We process the information we collect to:
- •Operate, maintain, and improve the Services, including opportunity ranking, deduplication, and automated discovery.
- •Personalize search results, saved searches, digests, and recommendations.
- •Send transactional communications (digests, alerts, service notices) and respond to support requests.
- •Monitor performance, prevent abuse, and enforce our Terms of Service.
- •Conduct analytics to understand usage patterns. We aggregate or de-identify data whenever possible.
- •Use automated systems, including AI and machine learning, to improve search results, personalize recommendations, and train our algorithms.
- •Develop new features, products, and services based on aggregated usage patterns and feedback.
3How We Share Information
We do not sell personal information.
We share information only with:
- •Service providers. Trusted vendors that process data only to perform work on our behalf, including hosting and infrastructure, database and authentication, search, email delivery, error monitoring, analytics, and AI services that process search queries to improve relevance. This includes Stripe for payment processing and Microsoft Clarity for product analytics and session measurement, which we use only with your consent.
- •Integrations you authorize. If you connect external tools or request exports, we share data according to each integration's scope.
- •Compliance and safety. We may disclose information if required by law, regulation, or court order, or to protect rights and safety.
- •Business transfers. If we undergo a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your data may be transferred to the successor entity.
4Cookies and Similar Technologies
We use cookies, local storage, and similar technologies to keep you signed in, remember preferences, measure performance, and detect fraud. Some features may not function properly without cookies.
Analytics tools we use. We use Google Analytics to measure traffic and understand which pages people visit. We also use Microsoft Clarity, a session replay tool that records how visitors move through pages (clicks, scrolling, and mouse movement) and builds heatmaps from that activity, so we can see where people get stuck. Clarity masks sensitive text fields by default, but it does record real browsing sessions. Neither tool is used to serve you ads.
How consent works. If you are visiting from the European Union, the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, you will see a cookie banner before any analytics loads. Nothing runs until you accept, and you can choose “Necessary Only” to keep analytics off entirely. If you are visiting from anywhere else, analytics is on by default and no banner is shown, but you can turn it off at any time using the “Privacy choices” link in the footer of every page. That link opens the same preferences panel the banner uses, so you can review or change your choice whenever you want. If we cannot determine your location, we treat you the same as a visitor from a consent-required region and show the banner.
Whatever you choose is remembered for future visits and is not overridden by a later change in your location. One first-party measurement script (t.js) always runs regardless of your analytics choice: it records page views, performance, and reliability data on our own infrastructure. That data stays with us and is not shared with advertising or third-party analytics companies.
You can also control cookies through your browser settings at any time.
5Data Retention
We retain personal information while your account is active or as needed to provide Services. We also retain information to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements. When retention is no longer necessary, we anonymize or securely delete the data.
6Your Choices and Rights
- •Email preferences. Every digest includes an unsubscribe link. You can also manage notifications from your dashboard.
- •Account data. You may update your profile, export saved data, or request deletion by emailing privacy@fundinglandscape.com.
- •Tracking controls. Configure your browser or device privacy settings to limit cookies or analytics.
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have additional rights such as requesting access, correction, portability, or objection to certain processing. Contact us to exercise those rights.
7Children's Privacy
The Services are not directed to children under 13 (or the relevant minimum age in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided data, please notify us and we will delete it.
8Security
We protect your information using encryption and secure authentication. We use third-party sign-in providers (such as Google) so we do not store your password directly.
Data Breach Notification
If we discover a security incident that may have exposed your personal information, we will notify you by email and take steps to address the situation.
While we take reasonable precautions, no online service is completely immune to security risks.
9International Data Transfers
We operate primarily in the United States. If you access the Services from other regions, your information may be transferred to, stored in, and processed in the U.S. or other countries where we or our service providers maintain facilities. We take appropriate safeguards to protect personal data.
10Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The "Updated" date at the top indicates when the latest changes became effective. We will notify you of significant changes via email or a prominent notice within the Services.
