NOTICE OF INTENT TO SOLE SOURCE The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) hereby provides notice of its intent to award a sole-source, firm-fixed-price contract to Olympus America Inc. for an upgrade to an existing Olympus bronchoscopic system currently in use by the Government. The Bronchoscopes are manufactured in Japan a TAA-designated country. The Buy American Act is not applicable to this procurement. Olympus America Inc. is the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) and has confirmed that they do not have any authorized distributors. All sales, upgrades, and replacements for this system must be provided directly by Olympus. Therefore, this represents a sole source requirement under FAR 6.302 1 (Only One Responsible Source).
