Johnson VA Medical Center Radiology Nuclear Medicine Department 109 Bee Street Charleston, SC 29401 Part 1: General Information Introduction The Ralph H. Johnson VA Medical Center (RHJVAMC) administers fluorine-18 labelled fluorodeoxyglucose (FDG) radioisotopes for Positron Emission Tomography (PET) imaging on a daily basis for clinical nuclear medicine procedures. In addition, RHJVAMC also provides PET imaging studies utilizing Amyvid (Florbetapir), a radioactive diagnostic agent for Alzheimer s disease (AD). FDG and Amyvid are United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approved drugs for use in PET and are essential to insure our veterans are provided with optimal patient car...
