SAPI provide ballistic protection when placed in the Outer Tactical Vest (OTV) / Improved Outer Tactical Vest (OTV / IOTV) or Soldier Plate Carrier System (SPCS) (as a component of the Interceptor Body Armor (IBA) system), or other current/future body armor systems.
