For optical power measurements, the NIST Primary Optical Watt Radiometer (POWR) serves as the Nation�s standard. POWR performs low-noise optical power calibrations using an instrument called an absolute cryogenic radiometer (ACR), a type of primary optical standard detector which allows optical power measurements to be traced directly to calibrated electrical power.
