RFI's: 1. Material Specification The required material for the 4" open-graded drainage layer should be a hard, durable, crushed aggregate that meets the gradation for a Rapid Draining Material (RDM) or Open Graded Material (OGM) as specified in UFC 3-250-01, Chapter 20. The material must provide sufficient stability for construction equipment and have a minimum permeability of 1,000 ft/day. 2. Compaction Requirements This layer must be compacted. Per UFC 3-250-01, Appendix B, compaction of drainage layers is achieved with a specified effort, in this case, six passes of a 10-ton vibratory roller, rather than a final density percentage.
