DAFI 36?2646 establishes the requirement for Security Forces units to employ a virtual weapons simulator as a baseline training capability. This system provides a critical, standardized method for developing and sustaining weapons proficiency across the force. A virtual weapons simulator enables realistic, interactive weapons training designed to enhance marksmanship fundamentals, decision?making, and tactical weapons employment. It supports Congressionally mandated Shoot/No?Shoot training by providing a controlled, safe environment where Defenders can engage in complex use?of?force scenarios without the risks associated with live?fire exercises.
