The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) announces its intention to negotiate and issue a sole source award to Pitchbook Data, Inc. for unlimited access to a database with detailed financial information on a select number of private firms. This database includes specific information which is highly relevant to ongoing litigation matters concerning consumer products produced by the firms. PitchBook's research will enable US CPSC Economic Analysis staff unlimited access to financial analytics database content concerning firms that operate within the U.S. CPSC is authorized to enter into contracts for equipment and software required to investigate the safety of consumer products and for improving the safety of such products (5 U.S. C. � 2054).
