About this opportunity

AEA assists rural communities across the entire lifecycle of their energy infrastructure — from identifying community needs and goals to providing training for utility management. AEA provides technical assistance to rural communities by: assisting communities in the energy planning process; assisting in project evaluation and selection; identifying funding and financing opportunities; acting as a liaison between communities and other funding agencies; providing direct lending through loans; assisting in grant applications for project funding; and providing training for powerhouse operators, general managers, and bulk fuel operators. Available to rural Alaska communities with unmet energy infrastructure needs.
