The National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) seeks to advance its mission through the continued support of the Collaborative Network for Clinical Research on Immune Tolerance. The purpose of this program is to enhance understanding of the underlying mechanisms of the induction, maintenance, and loss of immune tolerance in humans; and to develop improved tolerogenic interventions for the prevention and treatment of immune system mediated diseases (including transplant rejection, autoimmune diseases, and asthma and allergic diseases).
