The PCSGP Start-Up Sub-Grant provides funding for the planning and initial implementation of newly established or conversion charter schools. Start-Up sub-grants for planning and implementation are eligible for up to $600,000. There may be an additional opportunity to apply for up to $100,000 in supplemental funding to support and improve services for educationally disadvantaged students. The PCSGP Start-Up Sub-Grant serves California's public charter schools by providing startup and initial operating capital to assist schools in establishing high-performing charter school operations for California students and their families.

Eligibility: A newly established or conversion classroom-based charter school may be eligible for a Planning and/ Implementation sub-grant, provided that the school did not begin serving students prior to July 1, 2021.
