National Institute of Dental and Craniofacial Research (NIDCR) The National Institute of Dental and Craniofacial Research (NIDCR), established in 1948 through the National Dental Research Act, is the federal government's lead agency for research on dental, oral, and craniofacial (DOC) health and disease.
