GFO-20-605 - BESTFIT Innovative Charging Solutions
CA Energy Commission
About this archived opportunity
This is a competitive grant solicitation. The California Energy Commission’s (CEC’s) Clean Transportation Program (formerly known as the Alternative and Renewable Fuel and Vehicle Technology Program) announces the availability of up to $7,500,000 in grant funds for projects that demonstrate transformative technology solutions and work to accelerate the successful commercial deployment of electric vehicle (EV) charging for both light-duty and medium- and heavy-duty (MD/HD) applications. Previous work at the CEC, such as the EV Ready Communities Challenge grants and analysis for Assembly Bill 2127, have highlighted the need for unique charging solutions that are suited to the local built environment. There is no one-size-fits-all solution to EV charging, and there is instead a need to have a portfolio of charging solutions that complement and compete with one another. The purpose of this solicitation is to demonstrate novel technologies and/or business models that highlight these types of innovative charging solutions and form factors that are the “best fit” for the local built environment, use case, and vehicle type.
