About this opportunity
In 2026 the Governor and the state legislature created the Transit Investment Area Act through HB26-1065. The purpose of this Act is to incentivize transit-oriented development by establishing a state sales tax increment financing (TIF) program to fund infrastructure improvements within a two-mile radius of a public transit station or passenger rail station that will make it easier for people to access and use these transportation facilities. The Act also provides a new state tax credit to incentivize the creation of affordable housing within transit and housing investment zones. The Transit and Housing Investment Zone map will show the locations of the zones around the state.
