Eligibility Information in the NOFO for additional information on eligibility.Only institutions at which there is a strong ongoing base of digestive and/or liver diseases-relevant research that relates to the proposed theme of the Center are eligible. The already funded research base must have at least $3 million per year in direct costs of supported research within a proposed theme area that is of primary interest to the NIDDK. These may be a mix of Federal and privately funded research awards or research career development awards. However, at least 30 percent of the total funding contributing to the research base must be secured from the NIDDK. This Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO) invites applications for Silvio O. Conte Digestive Diseases Research Core Centers (DDRCCs). The DDRCCs are part of an integrated program of digestive and liver diseases research support provided by the NIDDK. The purpose of this Centers program is to bring together basic and clinical investigators to enhance communication, collaboration, and effectiveness of ongoing research related to digestive and/or liver diseases within the NIDDK's mission.
