About this archived opportunity
The intent of Home Veterans' Reintegration Program (HVRP), an employment-focused competitive grant program, aims to support America’s veterans in achieving their full employment potential and securing high-quality career outcomes for veterans experiencing and at risk of homelessness. The Department encourages applicants to propose strategies that promote economic prosperity, including appropriate participant support measures to help veterans find meaningful employment and overcome barriers to a successful transition into the workforce. To address the diverse needs of veterans experiencing and at risk of homelessness, DOL/VETS requires grant recipients to provide a comprehensive range of client-centered services within a case management framework. These services should directly assist veterans experiencing and at risk of homelessness establish critical linkages to local community support resources. The HVRP approach emphasizes securing high-quality career outcomes by providing veterans with necessary job training and employment services to facilitate successful re-entry into the labor market. Grant recipients must implement strategies that account for the complex employment barriers faced by this population, either through direct service provision or by developing a robust referral system to leverage existing tools, resources, and partnerships. These efforts should aim to identify, recruit, prepare, and support veterans for employment success. Through one of these methods, grant recipients will provide job placement, job training, job development, career counseling, and employment preparation services, among other services, to assist with obtaining meaningful and sustainable employment. Eligibility: Also eligible are the following: U.S Territories or Possessions, Native American Tribally Designated Organizations, State and Local Workforce Development Boards (SWDBs/LWDBs) established under the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA), and Other State and Local Government Agencies. Faith-based organizations are encouraged to apply, as are all organizations. Those that meet the eligibility requirements may receive awards under this funding opportunity. DOL will not, in the selection of recipients and administration of the grant, discriminate on the basis of an organization’s religious character, affiliation, exercise, or lack thereof, or on the basis of conduct that would not be considered grounds to favor or disfavor a similarly situated secular organization.
