D ) @" \ # # 1$ ) @ X : NC DHHS Notice of Funding Availability Reporting Form DHHS Division/Office issuing this notice: Division of Public Health, Women, Infant and Community Wellness Section, Infant and Community Health Branch Date of this notice: May 11, 2023 RFA Title: Reducing Infant Mortality in Communities Program Purpose: In 2015, the North Carolina General Assembly appropriated funds in the Maternal and Child Health Block Grant Plan to the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) Division of Public Health (DPH) to be allocated to local health departments/districts in counties that experienced the highest infant mortality rates (Session Law 2019-192, Section 1.1.(cc). Under this program, funding is distributed to local health departments/districts to implement evidence-based programs that have been proven to be an effective means to improve birth outcomes through addressing pregnancy intendedness, preterm birth, and/or infant mortality. Description: Eliminating health disparities is a priority for DHHS and a key area of emphasis in developing programs. The Reducing Infant Mortality in Communities (RIMC) Program is focusing on health disparities while addressing the overall infant mortality rate and infant mortality disparity ratio. Local healt
