The Department of Health Care Services (DHCS) will release a Request for Application (RFA) for $3,380,000 in State Opioid Response (SOR) III grant funding to implement the California Residency Program Collaborative (CRPC) from January 1, 2023, through June 30, 2024. The CRPC provides education, resources, and tools to help transform the practices of multiple physician specialties and their care teams and improve patient care in the areas of substance use disorder (SUD), opioid use disorder, and addiction. Entities may apply to receive up to $70,000 to improve access to treatment, reduce unmet treatment need, and reduce opioid and stimulant-related overdose deaths through the provision of prevention, treatment, harm reduction, and recovery service activities. Eligible entities include Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education-accredited residency programs that train physicians in emergency medicine, family medicine, general internal medicine, obstetrics-gynecology, pediatrics, and psychiatry.
