Round 3 Agricultural Lands Mitigation Program
Department of Conservation
About this archived opportunity
The Agricultural Land Mitigation Program (ALMP) provides grant funding for the purchase of agricultural conservation easements on farmland within Fresno, Madera, Merced, Kern, Kings, or Tulare counties. Interested landowners must partner with an eligible applicant, such as a land trust, city, county, resource conservation district, or regional park or open-space district. The farmland must contain predominately Prime Farmland, Farmland of Statewide Importance, Farmland of Local Importance, and Unique Farmland, as identified by the Department of Conservation's Farmland Mapping and Monitoring Program. Grants will be awarded to cover up to 100 percent of the value of the agricultural conservation easement. Because the easement grant application process entails a significant amount of work, applicants are required to submit a pre-proposal to the Department prior to submitting an application.
