About this opportunity
NSF supports research and tool development to understand how genomes function to produce phenotypes. The goal is to identify rules that control genome-to-phenome relationships and predict phenotypes. Genome biology proposals should focus on advancing our understanding of the relationship between genomes and complex traits or on understanding genome function. Proposals should use system-level analysis that goes beyond linking individual genes with traits. Proposals that address generalizable questions, or that advance theory or analytical approaches will receive priority. Projects focused on basic or translational hypotheses are welcome. Genomic resources proposals should develop functional genomics tools or infrastructure and provide proof-of-concept tests of the resource. In addition, the...
