OCEAN FLOOR MAPPING WITH LONG-ENDURANCE UNMANNED SYSTEMS
DEPT OF DEFENSE
About this archived opportunity
The Naval Oceanographic Office (NAVOCEANO) collects, processes, and databases a wide variety of high-resolution, ocean floor mapping data. While a primary purpose is to support Safety of Navigation (SoN) for Fleet operations, the data are also utilized in a variety of other products that provide improved situation awareness for the Fleet. The US Navy has a need globally for additional ocean floor mapping data in many ocean regions but does not possess the capacity to collect the data using the current portfolio of survey platforms. This request aims to enhance the mission effectiveness by shifting tasks traditionally performed by government-owned, manned platforms, to obtaining services that incorporate contractor-owned long-endurance Unmanned Surface Vehicles (USV). The support required under this anticipated procurement is included in the draft Performance Work Statement (PWS). THIS REQUEST FOR INFORMATION IS FOR MARKET RESEARCH AND PLANNING PURPOSES ONLY. IT DOES NOT CONSTITUTE A SOLICITATION AND SHALL NOT BE CONSTRUED AS A COMMITMENT BY THE GOVERNMENT TO AWARD A CONTRACT FORM RESPONSES TO THIS ANNOUNCEMENT. ANY INFORMATION SUBMITTED BY INTERESTED PARTIES IS STRICTLY VOLUNTARY AND NO MONETARY COMPENSATION WILL BE PROVIDED FOR RESPONDSE PREPARATION.
