1. Title: VISN 16 Secure Digital Imaging and Communications in Medicine (DICOM) Image Sharing Solution. 2. Background: Under the MISSION Act, VISN 16 experiences high volumes of imaging performed in the community. Current CD based transfers result in delays, lost media, compatibility failures, and increased costs. An automated, federated, secure electronic exchange is required to support timely care. 3.
