VY-MISSISQUOI NWR-PARKING LOT MAINT The Missisquoi NWR requires its visitor�s center and staff parking lot asphalt surface to be maintained to prevent degradation and improve striping visibility. The ~1.0 acre asphalt parking lot was created when the new refuge office and visitor's center was built in 2006. Maintenance was completed in 2019. Since then, cold winters with freeze-thaw conditions and regular wear and tear have created cracks in the asphalt surface and worn away the parking lot striping on the surface. To prevent continued degradation the refuge requires the asphalt to be sealed, cracks filled and striping reapplied.
