The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention intends to award a sole source firm fixed price contract to Columbia University to perform laboratory analyses and collaborative research activities to characterize MNPs, validate extraction and measurement protocols, and assess variability in MNP detection using advanced analytical instrumentation. The work will integrate CDC laboratory expertise with specialized analytical capabilities provided by the contractor to establish reliable measurement approaches and improve the scientific understanding of MNP detection in biological matrices. The anticipated period of performance is 09/15/2026 through 09/14/2028. This contract action is for services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 12.102 and 41 U.S.C. § 1901 and 1903 (an interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit proposals). This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotations; however, all quotations/responses received prior to the date and time below will be considered by the government. A determination by the government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
