The Department of Historic Resources is accepting applications for the Virginia Battlefield Preservation Fund (VBPF), established under Virginia Code Section 10.1-2202.4. Funds are available for the fee simple purchase of, or purchase of protective easements on, certain Virginia battlefield lands. The grant round is open from July 1, 2026 through September 1, 2026 and up to $5,622,324 million in funds are available.
