The purpose of this acquisition is to provide the NIH Mouse Imaging Facility (MIF) with hardware and software extended warranty maintenance support for its InAlyzer DEXA Scanner. This equipment uses Dual Energy X-ray Absorptiometry (DEXA or DXA) to measure bone mineral density (BMD) and body composition (BMC, FAT, LEAN) of subjects for ongoing biomedical research studies of human conditions. This system is a highthroughput device. With its speed and low radiation dose it allows longitudinal surveys of subjects; therefore, it can screen subjects to determine which subjects are best suited for higher resolution, more time consumptive imaging modalities like microCT that has a significantly longer acquisition data processing times.
