The Pennsylvania Department of Labor & Industry (L&I) announces the availability of approximately $4,000,000 in funding through the Apprenticeships on the Move: Advancing Pennsylvania’s Workforce grant opportunity. Applicants may request up to $249,999 in funding, with award amounts and the number of grants issued dependent on project scope and available funding. This grant opportunity will support the development of new or expansion of existing Registered Apprenticeship and Pre-Apprenticeship programs that strengthen Pennsylvania’s workforce and advance the Commonwealth’s economic development priorities.<br /><br />The purpose of Apprenticeships on the Move is to expand access to quality apprenticeship opportunities, strengthen talent pipelines, and support innovative workforce development strategies that respond to employer demand and create pathways to careers with opportunities for long-term growth.

Eligibility: Eligible applicants include organizations that will serve as sponsors or intermediaries of new and existing registered apprenticeships/pre-apprenticeships. To be eligible for funding under this NGA, the proposed Registered Apprenticeship Program or Registered Pre-Apprenticeship Program must operate within one of the following industry sectors:<br />• Agriculture<br />• Energy<br />• Life Sciences<br />• Manufacturing<br />• Robotics and Technology<br />• Education<br />• Healthcare<br />• Skilled Trades (including Construction, Electrician, HVAC, Steamfitting, and Fiber Optics/Telecommunications) <br />The applicant(s) must: <br />1. The applicant(s) must demonstrate the ability to coordinate, manage, and implement the design of the project; develop and implement the project budget; implement a strategy to collect, analyze, and report performance outcomes; and coordinate and evaluate the activities of the project.<br />2. The applicant(s) must be capable of monitoring and administering the fiscal components of the project.<br />3. The applicant(s) must be capable of submitting the required reporting elements at the required intervals as documented in the NGA.<br />4. The applicant(s) must have the capacity to work with an evaluator.<br />
