About this opportunity
Trident Refit Facility, Bangor, WA (TRFB), in support of Trident Submarines, requires commercial Thermal Spray services. SSTG Lift Rods, when ordered are not thermal sprayed. EM 841/322M-11 allows repair/modification of Lift Rods by coating the bushing seal area with ceramic. The ceramic modification will allow a tighter clearance without galling so that steam leakage can be reduced and galling normally seen on these Lift Rods can be eliminated. Vendor will pre-machine as required to apply sufficient amount of thermal spray. Vendor will prepare surface (pre-grind) and apply thermal spray. Process IAW NAVSEA T9074-AA-GIB-010/1687 to (10EA) Lift Rods (provided by NAVIMFACPACNORWEST). Vendor will rough grind the coated Lift Rods to a rough diameter of 1.260”/1.261” IAW EM 841/322M-11.
