About this opportunity

The USDA Agricultural Research Service requires DNA extraction from sea lice (Lepeophtheirus salmonis) and single nucleotide polymorphism (SNP) genotyping. Lice tissue samples will consist of single pre-adult or adult animals that have been preserved in ethanol. Sea lice DNA genotyping will be completed using AXIOM LSAL200K 96-ARRAY genotyping in the 96-well format (Thermo-Fisher SKU number 550522) on the GeneTitan Instrument or equal. Deliverables will include the genotyping data for all the samples and the raw data files in .cel format (CEL files) and PLINK format (either .ped and .map or .bed, .bim, and .fam).
