Goochland County, through its Board of Supervisors, Fire-Rescue Department, and Department of Public Utilities (DPU), places a high priority on the reliability, visibility, and operability of the County’s fire hydrant system. Fire hydrants are critical public safety assets that support emergency response and fire suppression activities. Maintaining hydrants in reliable operating condition and ensuring they are readily visible and identifiable are important components of the County’s overall fire protection infrastructure.The County’s Fire-Rescue Department has recently conducted system-wide inspections of fire hydrants throughout the County.
