The Washington State Department of Commerce is seeking proposals from qualified nonprofit organizations and local governments to implement a soil remediation pilot project in Okanogan County. The project will address agricultural soil contaminated with chemical such as DDT and DDT remnants, including DDE, in an area currently used by cannabis producers. The pilot site may be up to 50 acres and must include farmland managed by at least 10 cannabis producers. Proposed remediation strategies must use one of the alternatives identified in the feasibility study included with the RFP.
