UPPER STORY CONVERSION Description – This program funds activities limited to existing buildings to either rehabilitate un-occupiable units or convert existing spaces into new units. All spaces must be vacant and un-occupiable at the time of application and for a period of at least five (5) years. Applications for funding are competitive and must be received prior to the deadline. Incomplete applications will not be reviewed. The maximum number of units per project is 4 units, with a maximum cost of $100,000 per unit. The maximum award per project is $400,000. All incorporated cities and counties in the State, except those designated as HUD entitlement areas, are eligible to apply for and receive funds under this program.
